Minnowstar slipped out of camp as she looked around. She would love to be leading a hunting patrol right now but maybe it was better for her to go off by herself, just for today. She padded silently through the murky under growth as a warm breeze brushed past her causing a shiver to run down her spine.
Oh how she wished it could be cold weather already. Even though times were harder on the Clan when leaf bare came she was actually getting tired of the hot weather.
Her ears swerved around as she heard an unusual sound. Almost like something splashing into the water. Ah maybe some sort of prey. She dropped in to a hunters crouch as she kept low to the ground tasting the air.
It was a water vole, our at least by the smell of it. She creeped forward keeping her body and tail close to the ground. When she finally got a better view of the helpless creature she dashed out getting a good grip on it's scruff.
She lifted it up as she pressed her teeth into it neck killing it swiftly. A satisfied smile spread across her face as she carried the water vole towards the stream.
She crouched down leaving the vole to the side as she lapped up the cool and refreshing water. She stood up again licking her lips. She grabbed the mouse by the scruff once again as she padded through the murky land once again.
